Van Vliet Trucks opens office in Ghana |
31-01-2012  Friday 27th January 2012 was an important date for our Ghana-based office. This date the official opening of our unique African 'One Stop Shop'-concept was being held. More than 250 dignitaries and customers attended this special occasion with speeches by the Dutch Embassy and several dignitaries; and a tour through the yard, offices and workshops.
Van Vliet Trucks will not only have a large stock of 4x4's and trucks available in Ghana. Also heavy equipment and spare parts can be supplied from here....Read more

It was a day with a lot of dust as you can see on the picture, also caused by the trucks driving in front of him.
Marcel finished on 9th position in stage 8 with 00:35:28 variance.

Dakar Stage 7 |
08-01-2012  Marcel van Vliet had to start from 47th in Stage 7, due to the more than 6 hours time lost on thursday, which means that he had to catch up and pass other trucks which have a slower speed.
Truck 507 of Marcel finished 14th on Stage 7, after 05:41:39 hours and 419 km, and 01:21:07 minutes behind stage winner Gerard de Rooy.
Total time special stage driven in the past 7 days, is 21:25:09. Overall 23rd, with 13:05:59 variance (of which 4 hours penalty)
